Chimney Rock Park is a beautiful location for a wedding. The views are awesome as you can see in the photo taken on May 20th when Jeff and Lara were married there. We had a 'little' bit of excitement when Jeff couldn't locate his ring. (actually a ring that had belonged to his father) He searched the car and the ring was found! Everyone was relieved...While standing on top of Chimney Rock you can see Lake Lure below and long range mountain views. This has become a very popular site for eloping couples. The fee is reasonable and other visitors are always happy to serve as witnesses (& photographers).
Although this is a beautiful location, it's not for everyone. A couple from Michigan traveled to get married on 'top the rock'. After visiting the park they called in a panic. They were both terrified of heights.
There are always options so I suggested the park on the shore of Lake Lure.
Theresa and George were very happy with their 'second' choice.
