Secret wedding - Memories are safe at RiverMist

Sometimes life's circumstance require a secret wedding. And RiverMist is the perfect place to share wonderful memories.
In North Carolina all that is required for a legal marriage is a willing couple, a minister (or magistrate) and two witnesses. And yes, you can do this at the courthouse. If you don't have witnesses you can probably talk someone waiting in a nearby office to stand with you. It is a very 'matter of fact' legal procedure and may be exactly what the couple wants. Ceremonies normally take place at specific dates and times. One thing to note...photography is not allowed in the courthouse.

Often couples want something more personal and find themselves looking for another option. How fortunate that many find their way to RiverMist, which offers much flexibility and can tailor the ceremony to individual needs and wishes. Short-notice weddings can normally be accommodated.

Witnesses can be provided for a private (often secret) wedding. Ceremonies can be 'short and sweet', quick and easy or custom with digital photography, mini-reception, and lodging. Whatever the choice, memories are safe........

Teresa and Scott - Married in Norwood

Surrounded by family and friends, Teresa and Scott chose to keep their wedding memories at their weekend home. What a nice way to keep memories close.

While waiting for the bride to finish getting dressed Scott told me she was the 'woman of his dreams'. I knew it was going to be a good day. (that and the stack of fireworks on a nearby table)
I love it when couples add a little humor to their wedding vows. Here's what Scott promised

Teresa, you see everything.
You see every part.
You see all my light,
And you love my dark.

I promise not to keep score even if I am winning.

Now of course that caused a chuckle from the guests. Love it!
I am so happy that Teresa and Scott sent me some photos to share. Don't they look happy?
What a celebration they had planned. I'm sure no one went home hungry....And the guests will always remember the fireworks show at the end of the evening. No doubt this woman is loved and will be for years to come......

Family Wedding at RiverMist - Lori and Jim

It was a happy day when Lori and Jim married.
Can you tell from the smile?
Here comes the bride.
The ceremony was focused on love and commitment.
But not just between Lori and Jim.
Their wedding was also a joining of families
Everyone joined hands to form their family circle as I asked three questions.

Do you promise to love, respect and protect each other from this day forward?
Do you promise to always try to be the best person you can be?
Do you promise to accept the responsibility of being a family by encouraging and supporting each other in your new life together?
Yes, one big happy family.
Lori and Jim's love is the foundation.
Holding on tight as they look to the future.
Fun times ahead for this happy couple...

Jenny and Jeff Marry at RiverMist

You never know what our weather will be in March.
Even though the trees don't have leaves you can certainly add color.
Jenny and Jeff knew what they wanted for their wedding day.
And our weather cooperated.
March 31st turned out to be a wonderful day for a family wedding and picnic.
Precious daughter who was very much involved in the ceremony.
The ceremony was written to include Katelyn,
Jeff had some very important things to say.
Then he gave Katelyn a beautiful bracelet to mark the occasion,
Lots of time for kissing.
And pictures.
Above you are the stars, below you are the stones.
Like a stone your love should be firm.
Like a star should your love be constant.
Let the powers of the mind and of the intellect
guide you in your marriage.
Let the strength of your wills bind you together.
Let the power of love and desire make you happy.
Let the strength of your dedication make you inseparable.
Happy times for this lovely family.

St. Patrick's Day Wedding at RiverMist

You just have to have a little green for a St. Patrick Day wedding.
Don't you love Jody's bouquet.
Jody and Jesse are very much in love. With each other
and... with their wonderful son Alexander.
Little did he know what a special day it was.
Wedding rings seal their promises.
Alexander seals their love.
Yes, the little fella did steal the show..
Jody and Jesse were happy to share the limelight.
They are indeed lucky to have each other.
And love will hold them together.

February the month of Love.
The time that Alan and Sharon became husband and wife.
And also made promises to Kohle to create a family together.
Kohle walking his mother to the waiting groom.
Yes, it's true Alan. Here comes your bride.
We included a handfasting.

Belief in your heart is a testament to the power of love and compassion. Belief in the heart is the constant desire to put your spouse before you in every way, to act mindful and to allow love and patience to prevail. Belief in your heart will always guide your marriage and allow the power of love to grow, multiply and strengthen. At times, your souls may drift apart, but the belief in your heart will act as a silk tether, which will keep you together.
Time to bring in Kohle for pictures.

Kisses for mom.
We are family.

Valentine Day wedding in North Carolina

Valentine's Day. The day of love and the day that Mickey and Seth will celebrate their wedding.
And yes, it was a little chilly. Mickey decided that she would wear her jacket for the wedding.

Love never hurries, it is always kind. It is not jealous, and never boasts of its greatness. Love is not rude or selfish. It is always ready to forgive and forget mistakes we make.

Love is no friend of wickedness, but delights in honesty and truth. Love is strong and never gives up. It never loses its trust in God or its hope for the future. Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

I love this variation of 2 Corinthians Chapter 13. And it was a perfect addition to the ceremony that I designed for Mickey and Seth.
The jacket came off for a few photos but it was a chilly winter day so it went back on quickly.
These two had their love to keep them warm. (but the jacket helped)
Smiles so much bigger after the ceremony.
